Mary Adelyn Kauffman

Mary Adelyn Kauffman, vocal coach and conductor, enjoyed a free-lance career in Hamburg and Berlin before accepting her first position as assistant conductor and vocal coach at the City Theater in Hildesheim, Germany, in 2001. Before then, she toured with the Wolfgang Bocksch and Stella musical theater companies and coached at the Mozarteum, Sängerakademie and State Theater in Hamburg and the internationally-known Theater des Westens in Berlin. From Hildesheim, Ms. Kauffman progressed to the State Theater in Chemnitz, Germany, where she was chorus master and assistant conductor. In 2011, Ms. Kauffman returned to Miami, where she had been a doctoral fellow at the University of Miami and a member of the Young Artist Program at the Greater Miami Opera, and accepted a position on the faculty at Florida International University’s School of Music, where she shares her love of and experience in all musical genres with her students and colleagues alike. In 2014 she was music director for the world premiere of Carson Kievman's multimedia chamber opera Fairy Tales, Songs of the Dandelion Woman and in 2015 she was the music director for Intelligent Systems, the surrender of self in mystical contemplation.
